Hardwood and Veneer
The veneer and burr images shown here are representative of the species only. Variations in colour, figure, and other natural characteristics are only completely visible when the veneer ‘leaf’ is delivered. Even at this time, the overall appearance of the veneer will change upon the application of the ‘finish’, ie; oil, wax, lacquer, French Polish. Wood veneer, and all timber species are natural products and will always exhibit individual features and characteristics, no different to us as a species.

This original Victorian headboard has been restored by using a Mahogany ‘Curl’ veneer. To achieve the ‘finish’ seen in the photo takes many hours to complete using years of acquired skill, as indeed does the removal of the damaged veneer, repair and reconditioning of the pine substrate prior to the application of sealer, stain and finally French Polish. This headboard is a prime example of that which can be achieved with veneers.

The final gallery will illustrate how these features can be incorporated into a design and provide 3d CAD rendered images in varying formats. For solid colours, pastel, bright, patterned and even burrs, laminate can be used to provide similar striking effects to bespoke furniture. Again, we will be providing similar galleries to illustrate some of these combinations.
