Using similar methods, the architrave, skirting board and window board were made and installed to match the pine floor boards. All exposed pine was thoroughly sanded, sealed and several coats of varnish (with UV filters) were applied. We use these planes on occasion when we are matching ‘old’ mouldings, dado rails, picture rails and beading for example. The alternative is sometimes to grind special cutters for our machines depending on the quantity of the moulding that is required.
